Shout Out: DJ Rob Swift

Almost a year ago, I received an email from DJ Rob Swift of the Ill Insanity (formerly of the X-Ecutioners) wanting to get down with ILL PARTY. I was so honored because he is one of my favorite DJs & a respected turntablist in hip hop. I've seen Rob Swift showcasing his talent at various events in the past and I've always admired him. The first time that I've met Rob was the night of my birthday bash at the Delancey. I remember thinking to myself before the party, "is he going to be a complete dick or is he going to be mad cool?” because I have met some very stuck-up *ahem, DJs* people before. I finally got my answer after exchanging just a few words with him. And let me tell you something, DJ Rob Swift is one of the most down to earth people you will ever meet in your life, hands down. So the next time you see him out, don’t be afraid to give him a pound or let him know that he killed it at the event you’re at!

Most recently, I’ve received a package from Rob with a signed copy of the “As the Technics Spin” DVD (fresh off the press) and a couple of t-shirts for me and Teddy King to rock (pictured). I took these flicks with my cell phone since I haven’t splurged on a new digi camera yet, sorry!

Peep the trailer for his brand-spanking new DVD here:

Make sure that you send him some feedback via his Myspace & stop by his website!

A message to Rob:
You are the shit & you’ve got my respect! Thank you. :)
